MembershipFor 2012 we have tried to make the membership options less confusing and easier to administrate. There's only 3 options: Rider, Rider U18, Non-rider. The different membership options and the fees are described below. Download a membership form and once completed please drop it off at your local bike shop or email it to us.
Membership Options
There are three options to choose from. Two options apply to riders and one option apply to non-riders that wish to be club members..
These three membership options and fees are explained below:
Who for: This option is for a single person wishing to join the club as a rider.
Included:
- Club Fee
- NCF Fee
- National Champs Fee
- Entry Fee to 6 XC races
- Permanent Race number for the year
- Free meal at the AGM
Total membership fee - N$330
UCI licence fees for events outside Namibia are not included
Who for: This option is for a single person under the age of18 wishing to join the club as a rider.
Included:
- Club Fee
- NCF Fee
- National Champs Fee
- Entry Fee to 6 XC races
- Permanent Race number for the year
- Free meal at the AGM
Total membership fee - N$280
UCI licence fees for events outside Namibia are not included
Who for: This option is for anyone who is not a cyclist wishing to join the club. This membership option affords you the same priviledges that the rider options enjoy. You can also attend the AGM and have a vote.

- Free meal at the AGM
Total membership fee - N$190
Description of fees charged
Club fee
This fee is included in all membership options and goes to the club itself. This money is used for club administration, trail maintenance, equipment and consumables for funrides and races and also for medals and prizemoney.
NCF fee
This fee is included in the two 'Rider' membership options and goes to the Namibian Cycling Federation (NCF). Our club is affiliated to the NCF. This allows us to host the Namibian National Cross Country race where the winners are declared the Namibian champions. The NCF on their part is affilliated to the Namibian National Olympic Committee (NNOC) and the UCI (International Cycling Union). This enables our members to be chosen to represent Namibia at the Olympics and participate in events sanctioned by the UCI. Please note that you do not need a UCI licence for funrides, CrossCountry (XC) races (including the National Championship race), the marathons (like NamibGrens and Otjihavera-X) or the Nedbank and CycleClassic races.
The UCI licence is not included in the NCF fee. If you want to participate in a UCI sanctioned event outside of Namibia you need to apply and pay for a UCI licence through the club.
Permanent Race Number
This is included in the two 'Rider' membership options. You will be given your own race number that you can use through-out the year. So you'll have the same number at races. This fee includes entry fees to the 6 CrossCountry races and you are pre-entered for these races. So no more waiting in line to enter and pay. And it makes it easier for our time keeping officials by not having to enter your details into the timing system each time.
